The Glendale Unified Foreign Language Academies of Glendale (FLAG) program offers dual language immersion in seven languages. GUSD offers both 90:10 and 50:50 dual immersion programs beginning in kindergarten. In both program models, the target language is taught through content, not as a separate course of study.

The district is using Five Phase Planning: Phase 1 is research, which has been completed, and Phase 2 is assess, also completed. It is now into Phase 3 – plan – to expand the task force and make recommendations to the board.
